چکیده

Aim: Psoriasis is a common chronic inflammatory skin disorder, which has adverse effects on patients’ quality of life. Natural products exhibit significant therapeutic capacities with small side and might be preferable alternative treatments for patients psoriasis. This study summarizes the signaling pathways potential targets natural their efficacy psoriasis treatment. Methods: The literature this article was acquired from PubMed Web Science, January 2010 to December 2020. keywords searching included “psoriasis” “natural product”, “herbal medicine”, therapy”, “medicinal plant”, herb” or “pharmaceutical plant”. Results: Herbal extracts, compounds, herbal prescriptions could regulate alleviate symptoms, such as T helper 17 (Th17) differentiation, Janus kinase (JAK)/signal transducer activator transcription (STAT), nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB), mitogen‑activated protein (MAPK), phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt/mammalian target rapamycin (mTOR), other pathways, are involved in response keratinocyte hyperproliferation. anti-psoriatic effect clinical trials summarized. Conclusions: exerted by targeting multiple providing evidence investigation novel drugs. Further experimental research should performed screen characterize application

New drugs and treatment targets in psoriasis.

In recent years, the increased understanding of the pathophysiology of psoriasis has resulted in several new treatments. The success of ustekinumab proved the importance of the IL-23/T helper cell 17 axis in psoriatic diseases. Several new biologics targeting this axis will reach the clinic in the next years. Biologics are costly, require injections, and some patients experience tacaphylaxis, t...

Cellular targets of natural products.

Natural products have evolved, at least in part, to bind to biological macromolecules, particularly proteins. As a result, natural products are able to interact with many specific targets within the cell. Indeed for many years this has been central in the drug development process. Today, however, natural products are finding increasing use as probes to interrogate biological systems as part of ...

Metformin targets multiple signaling pathways in cancer

Metformin, an inexpensive and well-tolerated oral agent commonly used in the first-line treatment of type 2 diabetes, has become the focus of intense research as a candidate anticancer agent. Here, we discuss the potential of metformin in cancer therapeutics, particularly its functions in multiple signaling pathways, including AMP-activated protein kinase, mammalian target of rapamycin, insulin...
